Round 2, Team A - Dialogue en anglais

The Twins' Podcast

Jeu de société : l'équipe américaine affronte l'équipe britannique.

Jessie, Jonathan et Kyle jouent à trouver des personnalités américaines ! (texte en anglais)

Tarra: Hello everyone, here we are again… back for round two. Now, we have our team A from the New World, Jessie, Kyle and Jonathan… competing against the Old World represented by team B, Tom, Rose and Fiona! Level 2 is all about famous historical figures. You know the rules by now. Each player has to pick a card and then they have 20 seconds to give at least four facts. I'll ring the bell when the time is up. You are not allowed to skip cards and the other two aren't allowed to answer until I've rung the bell. Is everybody ready?

Jessie: Yeah, we'll go, we're ready.

Tarra: All right! Who's up first?

Kyle: I'm ready… I'll go first.

Jessie: Come on Kyle! Concentrate.

Tarra: Pick your card and go!

Kyle: So… he was an american president… in fact, I think,… he was the first president of the United States. It was at the end of the seventeenth century, no, I mean the eighteenth century… and erm… oh! you can see… you can see his face on the one-dollar bill…

Jessie: George Washington!

Tarra: Is the correct answer! That's one point!

Jessie: And he… And he was the first president Kyle… I mean I was listening in american history class that day! Thank you very much!

Tarra: Well done guys! Who's up next?

Jessie: I'll go!

Tarra: Ready, steady, go!

Jessie: Oh, You're so lucky… I know her… I love her! She was a terrific jazz singer, she was born in New York City… Her most famous songs were recorded around 1950 I'd say. She sang with white musicians… which was unusual for the time… Her last name is the British word for vacation!

Kyle: Holliday…

Jonathan: Ella, no that's Ella Fitzgerald… Er… Billie… Billie Holiday I 'm sure.

Tarra: Is that your final answer?

Jonathan: Kyle? What d'you say? Billie Holiday… that's our final answer.

Tarra: Ella Fitzgerald was not born in New York City. That's another point…

Kyle: Hoo!! Well done Jess! Good work!

Jessie: Beat that! Beat that!

Tarra: Last game, you're up. 3, 2, 1… Go!

Jonathan: Ok… This is an easy one! He was an american astronaut. He went on a space mission called Apollo 11 or maybe it was 12… Er… he was the first man to walk on the moon. That was in the 1960s I'd say…

Tarra: Time's up!

Kyle: Louis Armstrong!

Tarra: Wrong answer!

Jessie: Kyle… Neil Armstrong… Neil… seriously?

Kyle: I just knew that!! But I was still thinking jazz music… I'll never forgive myself… I wanna die…

Tarra: Sorry mates… That's two points for round two…
