How Leni Riefenstahl makes her film
Leni Riefenstahl's film has the aim to celebrate the german infallibility but it's the United States that dominate athletics, the most important category of the Games. For her film, the director is filming some athletes, before the competition, to reenact how they won the golden medal. She can then blend fictionnal scenes with footages from the real competition. And when there is no victory, she rather prefers neglect the competition and privilege the show to better hypnotize her audience. On August 16th, during the closing ceremony, Riefenstahl and those she serves have managed to brow these 1936 Olympic Games into their own world.
